Treasures Judaica Gift Shop is open on Wednesdays from 11:30 AM -1:00 PM and Sundays from 8:30 AM -1:30 PM when Religious School is in session. If you’d like to shop at another time, email sisterhoodtreasures@gmail.com to schedule an appointment.
At Treasures, our goal is to be your go-to destination for all your lifecycle events, holiday preparations, and everyday Jewish living. Whether you’re shopping for a meaningful gift or something special for your home, you’ll find a wide range of items—from timeless classics to contemporary designs—including kiddush cups, candles, tallitot, yads, mezuzahs, artwork, greeting cards, serving pieces, jewelry, and children’s gifts.
Treasures is a non-profit Judaica shop run by the Women of Temple Rodef Shalom (WoTRS). All net proceeds are donated to TRS and charities that support the Reform Movement, the greater Jewish community, and our local community at large.
1:00 PM-3:00 PM ^Next Steps Support Group
“Next Steps” Group (for widows/widowers) Beginning Wednesday, March 4th at 1 pm.
This group is specifically designed to provide support, education, and a safe space for those who have passed the initial stages of bereavement (post 6-12 months). This group is for TRS widows and widowers. Discussions focus on the practical, emotional, and social issues of moving ahead as a single widowed person.

6:30 PM-9:00 PM Fall Mah Jongg Lessons - Board Room A, Board Room B
A three-session (2½ hours per session) Mah Jongg class for beginners and those needing a refresher class on the rules of the game. Open to men and women, Temple member or not!
Cost: $100 – which includes the 2026 National Mah Jongg League Official Rules card.

Please make sure to include registration information such as home address, email, and phone number. Confirmation of your registration will be sent by email.
Registration fee is non-refundable once classes begin. Enrollment is limited, so register now.

9:30 AM-12:00 PM WoTRS Board Meeting - Board Room A, Board Room B
All Women of TRS members are invited to join our monthly board business meetings.
Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month, alternating between morning meetings in-person at TRS with a hybrid option, and virtual evening meetings on Zoom.
The in-person meetings begin with social time at 9:30 am and feature refreshments.

We welcome new and experienced players for some Mahj. Come to play the game, increase your skills, see old friends and make new ones.
Please bring your mah jongg card. We provide the mah jongg sets and refreshments.
For our less experienced players (you must know how to play), we offer mentoring opportunities.
Proceeds support various TRS programs and charitable organizations. Please note that we are a fragrance-free zone to accommodate our players with allergies.
Cost: $5 per drop-in session (pay at the door); cash only

7:00 PM-8:00 PM CANCELLED: Breast Cancer Support Group in Partnership with JSSA
A breast cancer diagnosis and everything that follows can feel isolating, even when you are surrounded by people who love you. This four-week professionally led support group, offered in partnership with JSSA, creates a confidential space to process, connect, and find strength alongside others who truly understand the journey.
Following the conclusion of the four-week group, Temple Rodef Shalom members are also warmly invited to connect with our informal, ongoing Caring Cohort for breast cancer survivors, which meets monthly here at the temple on Wednesday evenings. 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM TRS Tents: New Retirees Winery Tour - Out of the Building
Join the New Retirees Tent as they tour The Winery at Bull Run, https://wineryatbullrun.com/.
We will explore their collection of over 200,000 artifacts with exclusive access to their new Civil War museum. We will become a witness to history as the relics, and our tour guide, tell us stories of real Civil War soldiers. You'll enjoy 4 tastes of wine on this 60-75 minute walking tour led by a personal tour guide.
After the tour we can sit at tables to just relax and chat and drink more wine (or non-alcoholic drinks) if you want. If it's a nice day, they have plenty of outdoor tables with a stunning view and the leaves should be gorgeous at this time of the year. If it's not such a nice day, they have indoor tables. They sell snacks that include meats, cheeses, spreads, crackers, and nuts.
The cost for the museum, tour and tasting is $37 a person. Tickets need to be purchased in advance. Deadline to purchase is November 3.

7:00 PM - 8:30 PM Who was Rabbi Akiva & Why Should I Care? (and other Talmudic Questions)-At TRS - Mishkan (Small Sanctuary)
Ever hear someone quote the ancient sage Rabbi Akiva and think ... okay, great, but who was this guy and why should I care? How about Hillel, Yochanan ben Zakai, Rabbi Meir, or Beruriah? Or maybe you've never heard of them but are now interested, or have heard a lot and want to learn more.
Wherever you are, this class is for you! We'll explore the Talmud through the stories of the lives and teachings of some of its most famous sages, almost all of whom lived through some amount of upheaval, and grappled with questions like: how can we live lives of meaning in challenging times?
Led by Rabbi Alexandra Stein. Everyone is welcome. This class has an in-person Wednesday night option and a Zoom Thursday morning option. They are two sections of the same class. Please choose only one to sign up for, and pick the time and modality that works best for you!

7:00 PM-9:00 PM TRS Tents: SapienStudy (Virtual) - Virtual Event
If the unemployed philosopher’s guild had a book group, it would be SapienStudy at Temple Rodef Shalom. We began with Harari’s Sapiens, continued with Diamond’s Guns, Germs and Steel and will now begin discussing "Liberalism and Its Discontents by Francis Fukuyama." Classical liberalism is in a state of crisis. Developed in the wake of Europe’s wars over religion and nationalism, liberalism is a system for governing diverse societies, which is grounded in fundamental principles of equality and the rule of law. It emphasizes the rights of individuals to pursue their own forms of happiness free from encroachment by government.
The group meets virtually twice a month to share ideas on the books or article chosen by the group.
