11:00 AM-12:30 PM Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) Volunteer Shift - Out of the Building
Every last Sunday of the month, a group of up to 12 people are needed to volunteer at Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). AFAC provides food assistance to the 2,400 families in Arlington who are suffering from food insecurity. Sign up using link above:
Tasks will vary month to month, but typically include bagging dry goods or produce, creating soup or bean mixes and sorting canned goods and donations. Work is not strenuous but prepare to stand for the full shift and we need a few people who can lift crates that can weigh 20 - 30 pounds. Kids are welcome. AFAC prefers 14 or older but feel free bring your children as long they can stand on their feet and work side-by-side with you.
A few notes regarding proper dress for the warehouse.
1. Hats or other head coverings are required. AFAC will supply hair nets if needed
2. Closed-toed shoes (no flip flops or sandals)
3. Dress in layers as the warehouse can be drafty

Mahj for a Cause! The Women of TRS invite you for a fun half-day of playing Mah Jongg in the Social Hall. Attendees may play in one of two sections— Competitive or Recreational. All have a chance of winning fabulous prizes while raising money for various charities.
COST: $50 for WoTRS members; $55 for non-members

We’ll meet up at Bowlero (Bowl America Falls Church), 140 S Maple Ave., Falls Church, Virginia 22046.
Everyone will pay their own way. Historically it's one economical price per person for unlimited bowling and rental shoes.
Most of us have not bowled in DECADES so all levels of bowlers are welcome -- there is no low score shaming!

The Temple Rodef Shalom Endowment develops the financial resources to support our vitally important work for the next generation and secures our future as a sacred community. The Rabbi Laszlo Berkowits Remembrance and Understanding Project Endowment Fund honors Rabbi Berkowits’ life story by underwriting programming that may include rebuking antisemitism, sharing lessons of the Shoah, and ongoing dialogue with our non-Jewish neighbors.
